During which phase does hair shed?

The telogen phase is the stage in the hair growth cycle during which hair shedding occurs. This phase is characterized by the hair follicle being in a resting state. After the anagen phase, where hair actively grows, and the catagen phase, which is a transitional stage where growth stops and the hair follicle shrinks, the telogen phase follows.

In this resting phase, hair is not actively growing, and as new hair begins to form in the follicle, the old hair is pushed out, leading to shedding.
